Recently reported by http://kdka.com/politics/, United States Senator Jane Orie and her sister, Judge Joan Orie Melvin, apparently asked for some help from a strange place after Sen. Orie became the subject of an investigation of corruption.

Affidavits included in the case against Sen. Orie and her sister, Janine Orie, show that Jane and another sister contacted Carolann Sano, a Philadelphia-based clairaudient, last November while under grand juryinvestigation.

They asked her if District Attorney Stephen Zappala would drop the case.

“They went to what they call an ‘angel reader,’ so I would assume, and I don’t know any personally, but I would assume that would be someone who’s tapping into their personal angels, their personal spirit guides, something along that area,” Diana Paar, of Moonstones in Dormont, said.

But is this type of fortune-telling uncommon? Paar says not exactly.

“They are very conservative people, they’re sort of right wing and it just reminded me of Nancy Reagan – Nancy Reagan had an astrologer on staff for years and no one knew about it and so I’m sure they didn’t want people to know about it but it’s perfectly normal and all walks of life look for different ways to have answers,” she said.

KDKA tried to contact Carolann, but messages were not returned.

The “angel lady” could be used against the Ories in this case as prosecutors seek to prove that the Ories were trying to threaten DA Zappala so he would stop his investigation.

William Costopoulous, the attorney representing Sen. Orie, claims the clairvoyant issue is totally irrelevant to this case.

Detective-Sergeant Rick Mires of the Newnan Police Department has acknowledged publicly that he enlisted the aid of a self-proclaimed clairvoyant to assist in a police investigation — and that he’s using her services in at least two other unsolved cases.

Kate Cadoré insists that her talents are legitimate and that she hopes to gain nothing from her work except justice for victims, especially for suspect Jonathan Encarnacion’s alleged elderly victims. In fact, the Encarnacion case is the first active investigation in which she’s ever assisted.

Kate Cadore works a day job, and lives in Newnan Georgia, considering herself normal, though as a child she was aware of things that she shouldn’t have known.

Cadoré said the officers were convinced of her clairvoyance when she described in detail the carvings on the Pinson Street victim’s abdomen — information that was only known to investigators.

“I did not have anything to do with the arrest, though,” Cadoré insists. “The reason the arrest was made was simply because there was another victim — unfortunately for her. The information I gave police was validated after they had their suspect.”

Cadoré has encountered skepticism, but says she’s had a positive response from investigators and others who’ve sought her out for help.

“My character and work speak for themselves,” she said. “I don’t need to defend what I do. I appreciate skepticism and understand it. When you can’t define something, fear and doubt begin to set in. But, there’s no way to define what I do.”

She commended the work Mires and Wimbush have done in their criminal investigation.

“Rick Mires and Reginald Wimbush had the courage to go outside the conventional ways of doing investigative work by sitting with me,” said Cadoré. “These two investigators respected my work enough to listen to what I had to say. That brought us to where we are. More law enforcement officers should do the same. There are a lot of gifted people out there who could be put to use.

“This is about getting some justice.”

Carmel Wright said murder victims appeared to her and filled her in on missing clues that police had missed, revealing the murderer’s name every time.

Ms Wright hopes to one day pursue the path of acclaimed psychic Allison DuBois, on whom Channel 10 show Medium is based.

One of Ms Wright’s most memorable cases involves a woman in Perth, more than 34 years ago.

She cannot reveal the name of the victim, as the murder is currently unsolved.

Ms Wight said the murdered woman told her who killed her and where the evidence was that police needed to solve the case.

She claims there were two men involved in the murder.

“One has since passed on, but the other one is still out there and he took the jewellery off the dead woman’s body, which the police didn’t know,” she said.
